Angel Faith, the new angel in the family

February 23rd, 2010

cute little angelFebruary 23, 2010.  A new angel is born.  She is the first daughter of my only brother, first grandchild of my parents, first niece and first to put the smile on each of the family members and give the feeling of welcoming a new baby in the family.

I just love how she smiles and yawns.  For sure she will be filled with love and care from all of us.  She’s an angel we long have waited for.

cute little stuffs for keepsakes

As the saying goes, “The manner of giving is worth more than the gift”  ~Pierre Corneille, Le Menteur.

This Christmas, let us share our blessings to those whom we have touched our lives.  Simple things would mean so much so long as it comes from the heart.  Key chain is my choice for this year’s holiday season.  I made the designs and so glad to have make them look so cute for keepsakes.  It has name tagged on  the chain to make it more personalized. The box decorated with green and red ribbons which encased them makes them look perfect for gift giving.

Health Tip: 20 Minutes to Lower Blood Pressure

December 10th, 2009

This is is a case of mind over medicine.  In a study of 122 people who had high blood pressure despite taking two or more drugs, those who practiced the relaxation response (RR) for 20 minutes a day for eight weeks were over four times  more likely to get off one of their medications than a comparable group who received only health counseling.

RR consists of focusing on a word, sound, or prayer to help the body enter a resting state with lower heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure.  What was string about this research was that participants all had elevated systolic pressure (the upper number), “which is often hard to get under control,” notes study leader Randal Zusman, M.D., of Massachussets General Hospital  Heart Center.  “I was very skeptical going in – but the outcome was impressinve,” he says, adding that the response is “inexpensive, effective, and free of side effects.”
