Cebu Pacific Victim of Lost Luggage

Cebu Pacific Victim of Lost Luggage

cebupacific

It was a rare opportunity that I was given a chance by my company to be trained in Makati City, Philippines.  I was excited for the following reasons: I could go to some other place for learning and to improve my skills on Magic programming; I could explore some other place and lastly, I could ride an airplane for the first time.

Now let’s go into details with my flight.

It was my first time to ride an airplane! I was so excited and all the while, I kept on believing that it would be a great experience, but not until something happend when I returned back.  I booked for a round trip ticket from Cebu to Manila and vice versa.  Everything went on smoothly when I went to Manila and my stay there was great.  But when I went back to Cebu, I lost one of my baggage in transit.  I just found it out when I was the only one standing in front of the baggage conveyor waiting for my last bag to be unloaded.  Then, one of the staff of the airline went on to me and asked if I still have a baggage which is unclaimed and obviously, I did realize that its already missing.  She told me of the possibility that my bag could be on the next flight which will arrive about an hour.  I wondered how it could happen when I checked in my baggage about 2 hours before the flight.  She asked me to fill up a form reporting the missing bag, my contact no. and address.  She assured me that it will be delivered right to our house for free.

Realizing what is happening, I felt so disappointed.  I wasn’t expecting that this could happen.  It brought me distress thoughts.  And the saddest thing i that its already been 4 days since it happend and until now, my bag is still nowhere to be found.  The airline’s in-charge for lost and unclaimed baggages keeps on updating me of the status of my problem, but still I get the same answer, “It’s negative”, which means that it is still missing.

I’m not sure of what should be the management’s action on this.  But I just see one big lapse on the security and their procedures.  Bags were not checked if passengers get their correct baggages while going out of the departure area.  If they only practice the checking or matching of the claim stubs and stickers, this could be less likely to happen.  Although I appreciate the effort of the one working on with my lost baggage, but the thing is, management should have implemented security to make sure that this won’t happen to their passengers.  If they really value us, they should also value our belongings while checked in and turn-over to their custody.  If this keeps on happening without an action, then I won’t ever ride on it again.  ITS UNSECURED!

After 7 days and if it is still missing, they will declare it as lost luggage and another sad thing is that, the airline will only pay us 100 pesos/kilo irregardless of the value of the things inside which obviously doesn’t compensate the real value of what u just lost.

Hope you guys reading this will be more cautious of your things while traveling.  If you choose Cebu Pacific as your airline, then just pray that this will not happen to you.  It’s a lot hassle being a victim.

If you have the same experience or have any advise on what I could do witht this, feel free to leave your comments.

You could have a research of the same cases with Cebu Pacific.

Here’s another incident/thoughts having the same problem with this airline. Just click http://www.jehzlau-concepts.com/2009/04/cebu-pacific-the-cheapest-and-most-unsecured-airline-company.html

I feel for your misfortune bai. This airline may offer the lowest fare but the system really sucks. Unless they’ll make an effort to improve their services, this incident is still likely to happen. Your situation is not uncommon. There are still a lot of helpless customers out there who are unlucky enough to experience their bad service. I could only say Cebu Pacific is not a reliable airline.

the most annoying flying experience might be that of the missing or lost luggage. if you fly enough, for busn or pleasure, u will likely feel the misfortune of such an event.. grgr.. Make them pay ,sometimes lost bags remain that way. where do they go? the airlines aren’t saying. What they must do, however, is reimburse u…sayang akong pasalobong didto..lol nexttime nalang zyl make sure it is not filled with valuable or important items sa imo bag, such as important documents, camera, hope makita.an rana..assure ko !

When I went to Davao, that was the first time also in riding an airplane. I really feel that you have been through. Although, we had a bit difference for I didn’t experience of losing a baggage. Now, I know that when you lost your bag, the airlines will only pay, 100pesos/kilo. This is really unfair. –

huh! this is really would be a moral lesson to everybody.

btw, I have an award for you. I hope that you will grab it. heheh
